Less is More
Less is More!
At the closing of this civilization we’ve been programmed to think, we need this for that. And… more is better. In reality it’s the opposite. Less is more. The less I spend the more I have. The less drama I have the more time I have to do the important things.
It’s takes awhile to break that pre-programmed mindset. The secret in mastering this is in taking baby steps. The Creator was so Loving to make sure we remember this throughout our entire journey, by learning how to walk as babies going into toddler mode. We saw everyone walking around but all we could do is lay there. Then we learned how to do roll overs, sit ups, pull ups and yup – stand ups. YES! Sweet, we are almost there. A couple of bumps and bruises…
BUT. NOW! WE are HAULING our DAIPERS to new locations. 😊
Next Step to Less is More, is all about our routines.
Example: We spend this much time grocery shopping, let’s say one hour. Now I set a timer on myself, for only spending 45 minutes grocery shopping. Do this a few times so that the new 45 minute shopping routine feels natural to us. Less is More.
Example: I am now saving 15 minutes grocery shopping time and I am going to use this 15 minutes to having 15 minutes more of enriching time with my child. Less is More.
Example: I get my child every other weekend. I get all my running around, phones calls out of the way. SO that I can spend all my time to having enriching times with my child, when I have my child. I turn my phone off, etc. Less is More.
Example: Instead of buying a “new” toy, we repurpose the toys we already have. If we don’t have any toys, we make what we have into toys. We don’t tare the item apart and try to make the materials into a toy. We act like our old shoe is a toy and Call it SUPER SHOE! SUPER SHOE to the rescue. Tie a wash towel to the shoe, with the shoelaces for a cape. If the towel is really used and old, write the letters SS on the cape for SUPER SHOE! Less is More.
Our Child will LIGHT UP lite a million light bulbs. Seeing the creativity. The smiles on their face will be priceless. Our child will learn how to develop their imaginations better. We’ll have a blast having fun with the only toy of it’s kind on the planet. Less is More.
And REMEMBER: too SEE MORE too LIVE MORE than ever with our children.
Ok. Until then OV. Enjoy!!
PS. If you have a christian background, I wrote a book called Can My Life Change. It helps us retool our minds to start new routines. It was written in my waning years of being religious. 365+ meditations. Instead of updating the book to eliminate the religious jargon, I’ve written a webpage that can be downloaded as a PDF to help me modify the examples without the religious connotations. Click Here.
